  • Evandu, First Amendment. A state cannot endorse religion in any way. Public schools are endorsed by the state. The state MUST follow the Constitution. Heavenly father does NOT represent all religion and lack of.

  • When these types of values become an offense to people just because it has Heavenly Father or Amen attached to it, then I think it's society that's flawed because it loses sight of the real content behind the words.

  • She did ask! Twice. She wanted the words heavenly father and amen taken out. Nothing in the banner would have changed the meaning. Those words are unconstitutional and the school said no and called her bluff. She was actually right in this case.

  • MSP, that WAS the original idea. She only wanted those lines out. She went to the school, twice, about how it was unconstitutional. They weren't going to change it and basically called her bluff. As for why it is being removed entirely, I don't know. She only wanted those lines out.
